If you want some clarity in your marketing, then you're in the right place. I love working with people. Yes, businesses and organisations, but most of all, people who run them. I take my clients on a journey. The bit I enjoy the most is empowering them with solutions and tools to amplify their marketing results through my recommendations or design work. I research and develop then collate award-winning, robust marketing and communication strategies that identify, target and resonate with their ideal customers. Being resourceful is also essential to me; as well as marketing strategy, I also offer a design service; I enjoy nailing a client brief or seeing my marketing recommendations getting results, but what I find joyful is the impact my work can have on our world both locally and globally.

I have been building ah! Marketing for nearly four years (wow!), my branding, design and strategy portfolio has impacted a wide range of clients across diverse industries in the UK, USA, the Caribbean, and beyond.

As marketers, we have the power to use our skills and knowledge for the greater good. I want to do more than promote products or services; I want my work to inspire and help create meaningful positive social change, raising awareness of anti-racism or gender equality. As well as my consultancy work, I work with two initiatives that I have co-founded with some truly incredible humans. The Be Foundation (Barbuda) and Be That Change (London) both have positive social change at the heart of our work, and I feel proud to be a part of them.

The ah! story 

I am Leicester, born and bred, and after finishing college, I spent several years working in the civil service, where I realised the importance of education. So I burnt the midnight oil at night school to retake my A-Levels whilst working and earned a place on an elite BA Hons course studying Media, Culture and Society where Cultural Studies was born in the UK Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. I packed myself off to Birmingham University as a 'mature student' at the ripe old age of 23. I have always been captivated by the media and the power of great messaging.

 

After graduating, ITV offered me an internship at their iconic London Studios on the London Southbank, where I started my decade long career in TV production. Funny to think that I had pictured shooting cutting-edge documentaries but instead found myself in the glitz and glamour of Saturday night TV, working on big audience entertainment shows like Blind Date, Big Brother and Comic Relief; I embraced the opportunity with both hands, often pinching myself.

 

After working behind the camera, starting as a production secretary progressing to a producer for the BBC, Sky, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, I began to crave a need to focus my creative skills in other ways and marketing ticked all the right boxes. My marketing debut was as a Projects, Communications and Marketing Manager in a high achieving secondary school in one of Londons most disadvantaged borough's Newham. I experienced some of the most rewarding moments of my working life with those young people. When I was made redundant, it rocked my world, but on the flip side, it allowed me to set up my marketing consultancy, and I have never looked back.

 

Working in digital marketing means you always need to be learning, so I qualified as a Social Media Associate and, more recently, completed the fantastic Business and Marketing Coach Ruth Gilbey's Online Business Blueprint Course. I am a founding member of her Online Business Collective, which means I have access to a supportive and knowledgeable group of digital marketing experts and business owners who have limitless experience in every imaginable industry; I call them my virtual colleagues, and we have lots of epic virtual watercooler moments!
